The Mattapan/ Greater Boston Technology Learning Center, Inc. also known as (Mattapan Tech) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) public charity, established in 2006. Mattapan Tech is located on 24 Regis Rd, in a mixed commercial and residential area of Mattapan, MA. Mattapan Tech administers a variety of programs preparing individuals to work in the IT industry. Our partners include Comcast, CompTIA, Mass. Rehabilitation Commission and the Urban League of Mass.


Program Description:  This program is designed to train IT technicians for entry level positions and it is composed of 7 courses, include the CompTIA A+ certification exams 220-901 and 220-902 preparation. Students who successfully complete the program will receive a certificate from Mattapan Tech (Mattapan/ Greater Boston Technology Learning Center, Inc.) as an IT Technician, then will be eligible to take the internationally recognized CompTIA A+ certification exams at a reduced cost. After the first class, any student can sign up for two classes at the same time.

Job roles: IT Help Desk Assistant, PC Repair Technician, Field Technician, IT Technical Support Specialist, Technology Sales Specialist, Network Support Specialist.

After graduation, all graduates will be assisted with resume preparation and job search.

Course description:
This course introduces IT students to advance knowledge of :
Input and Output Devices such as imaging and biometric tools, digital cameras, bar code reader, sound and video devices.
How to evaluate and recommend Specialy PCs such as virtualization workstation, audio/video editing, graphics/CAD/ CAM design workstations, home server PCs, home theaters and other new technology.
Students will also learn how to install and troubleshoot expansions cards, device drivers and other software.
